No life and adventure without water
Water is one of the most essential elements on earth. It nourishes everything from the smallest plants to the tallest trees, from animals to people. It shapes the gentle rain into glistening streams, winding canals, powerful rivers and enchanting waterfalls. And don’t forget the snow, ice and storms. Our planet is 70% covered by water, just like our bodies. Yet only 3% of all the water on earth is fresh, and of that, only a third is directly suitable for drinking.
For many of us, clean drinking water is something we take for granted. We turn on the tap and have instant access. But in many parts of the world, and even on adventure travel, this is a luxury that is not always available. Drinking contaminated water can lead to health problems such as diarrhea, vomiting or fever – a real downer on a long-awaited adventure.
Water requirements while traveling
An adult needs an average of 2 liters of water per day for drinking and another 1 liter for general use. Don't forget your faithful four-legged friend; depending on its size and exertion, a dog drinks an average of 1-2 liters of water per day. Suppose you are away from civilization for a week with three people and a dog. Then you need:
3 people x 3 liters per day x 7 days = 63 liters
1 dog x 2 liters per day x 7 days = 14 liters
That’s a total of 77 litres of water – a lot to carry in a packed 4x4 or on a motorbike. And then there’s the risk of contaminating the water supply through careless use. Fortunately, there’s an efficient solution: water filters.
The ideal water filter for every situation
With a good water filter, you are always assured of clean drinking water, wherever you are. Below we discuss the different options that fit perfectly with your adventures:
- Lifesaver Wayfarer : Compact and ideal for in your backpack during a hike. Turn every stream into a drinking opportunity and refill your bottle and those of your traveling companions.

- Lifesaver Liberty : A clever combination of water filter and bottle. Fill not only your own bottle, but also those of your travel companions. Ideal for active adventurers.

- Lifesaver Cube : For 5 litres of drinkable water. Handy to pack in your car or motorbike case.

- Lifesaver Jerrycan : The best choice for families or groups. Always carry a 20 liter water supply.

Water Filters: Not Just for Travel
Having a reliable water supply is not only useful when traveling, but also essential at home. In times of crisis, such as natural disasters or water supply disruptions, a water filter can be a lifesaver. Given the latest global developments and popular news channels increasingly recommending having an emergency supply at home, it seems smart to be prepared for water outages.

Suppose you want to create an emergency supply at home. Again, think of 3 liters per person per day and your faithful four-legged friend. You can rely on water bottles with an expiration date that are rotated throughout the year. But our experience shows that this takes up a lot of space and is forgotten. We have purchased a sealed Jerrycan fam. pack for this. This jerrycan is sealed and comes with filters and a maintenance package, which means that the jerrycan will last for at least 10 years without being weathered or affected by bacteria. The fam. Pack is good for 20,000 liters of fresh water, after which new filters can be purchased to replace. With a purchase price of 579 euros for the fam. Pack, this amounts to 2.9 cents per liter. Much cheaper than a bottle of water at the supermarket. As far as we are concerned, a cheap insurance. What if you have now purchased a jerrycan that is not sealed? All filters are available sealed on the site and also have a shelf life of 10 years. To fill the jerrycan, you simply go to the pond or canal and get fresh water. You put it through the two-stage filter and it is ready to drink.
